We talk to Absolutely Cheshire about how the Charlotte Findlater Team lead the way in regenerative architecture and luxury interior design that honours time, nature, and people. For a barn high above Lake Coniston in the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site, we drew inspiration from the symbolism of a squirrel’s drey, representing safety, refuge, and sanctuary. Using natural, sustainable materials, we created a home that reflects its enchanting woodland setting, while prioritising human health and wellbeing at every stage of the design.
Through biophilic design principles, the interiors embrace natural light, stone, wood, and sensory layers that foster a deep connection with nature. These timeless, authentic spaces reduce stress, enhance creativity, and celebrate the individuality of their owner. Rooted in the ethos of sustainable and regenerative interiors, this project embodies John Ruskin’s belief that “when we build, let us think we build forever.” Extending regeneration beyond the house, the rewilded garden now features fruit trees, vegetable beds, and inviting spaces to eat, play, and connect, ensuring a lasting legacy of harmony and ecological balance.

We really enjoyed speaking with Caroline Robertson about the interior design trends of 2021 and the up and coming new series of Changing Rooms with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
April 2021
A topical chat with Caroline Robertson about the Lulu Lytle refurbishment of No.11 Downing Street commissioned by Carrie Symonds & Boris Johnson. John Lewis, making an interior change on a budget, and what a high-end interior designer can bring to a project were all covered in our conversation. There are lots of positives in both the high street and high-end approaches. Let’s leave the politics out of it and celebrate John Lewis as a British company and Lulu Lytle as a champion of the integrity of the manufacturing process; Lulu ensures every piece is made in Britain by a network of workshops excelling in traditional crafts.
March 2021
We really enjoyed speaking with BBC Radio Cumbria about the way that lockdown has affected how we view the design of our homes. It really got us thinking about homes serving as temporary workplaces, schools, and gyms, and how we’ve all begun to think about what makes us happy, what makes us comfortable, and what is important for us in our home.
The new normal will see many more of us needing permanent and flexible home-working, exercise and schooling areas, in energy-efficient properties and with outside space being a must.
December 2020
We spoke with Mike Zeller on BBC Radio Cumbria’s Breakfast Show about creating sustainable and eco-friendly Christmas decorations using natural materials. We love being out and about in the fresh air, so encouraged others to explore nearby hedgerows, woodlands and even their own gardens to forage for foliage. Larch, fir, holly and ivy are all perfect for making statement decorations that can be hung or displayed in vases around the home. We also took on the debate around faux or real trees – and the perils of drooping branches.
